Now
retired, Miriam Kleinberger became
"Senorita Soto The Clown" during the
fall of 1995. The humor and laughter she
created from 1995 - 2000 is our
continuing inspiration!
Senorita Soto was an avid face painter
and entertained youngsters all over New
York's Capital Region. She was also a
consistent award winner in both regional
and international clown competitions.
Senorita Soto worked tirelessly on the
behalf of several Capital Region
charities, raising funds for many worthy
causes. She was a very special clown and
everyone who met her was captivated by
her.
In 1999, Miriam was diagnosed with
primary pulmonary hypertension and was
forced to retire from public performing
in the spring of 2000. However, she has
remained active in our local clown arts
community. Miriam is a former Clown of
The Year and has served as Sgt. At Arms
and Vice President of the Electric City
Clown Alley. In 2002, Miriam won an
International Red Nose Silver Medal at
the COAI convention in Saratoga Springs
while serving as the Special
Entertainment Chairman. She is an active
member of the Capital Region Pulmonary
Hypertension Support Group, is a
founding member of the
Fuddi-Duddy
Institute For The Advancement of Smirks,
Smiles, Giggles and Belly Laughs, COAI
Alley #369, as well as, The Capital
Region Clown Arts Festival. Miriam is a
member of the Red Hat Society and is an
avid stamper. She serves on the board of
Clowns On Rounds, Inc. and is a family
care coordinator for Karing For Kids, a
local charity effort assisting the
families of youngsters fighting
catastrophic illness.
